My parents got deported – and now?

Samuel Arandia is Bolivian, 18 years old and he came to the Netherlands in 2008. About two years ago his parents were deported to Bolivia. They didn´t mention him so he remained here. In his video blog he talks about how he carried on without them, going to school and making a living. During these days he is finishing high school but now as he got 18 he also has to go back. Follow him to figure out what he actually wants to do!
Casa Migrante ondergaat het fenomeen van de re-emigratie van vele personen die, vanwege de financiële crisis in Spanje, in Nederland komen op zoek naar een betere toekomst. Noticias was bij hen om de realiteit van de situatie te verkennen.

Evo Morales heeft zich opgeworpen als de verdediger van Moeder Aarde. Toch staat hij genetisch gemodificeerde (GMO) sojateelt toe. Inmiddels bestaat een derde van de landbouwgronden in Bolivia uit deze sojaplanten. De risico's van grootschalige teelt van GMO soja zijn groot. Maar de financiële voordelen voor de boeren ook.

The upcoming conference will be dedicated to three sets of questions in the context
of development impacts, country of origin perspective and how business can be a
means of integration into the host country’s society.
On the 8th of June 2013, distinguished representatives and experts of the Diaspora,
SMEs, banks, development organisations, policy and decision makers from Asia, Africa
and Europe will come together to discuss these issues, to set up sustainable
structures and to work out jointly sustainable solutions. The conference will be
held in English and Dutch the workshops will be in English only!
